This is a touching collection of deeply emotional poems. Ranging from love, heartache and suicide, it is fiercely honest in its vulnerability and rawness of every poem. This is a collection made from years, put together for our pleasure. I enjoyed reading this collection and look forward to seeing more from Christina.

Ms. Worrell has touched on a subject that is very hard for a lot of people to handle. The subject is of depression and how a lot of people feel but are afraid to say anything. These are poems that she is sharing with us and isn't afraid to do it. I have a lot of respect for this author to share some of the feelings she may have felt or that others are feeling. They are well written and I'm glad she shared them with us.

I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure what to expect but without giving too much away, it's a revenge/ redemption story with a spiritual twist, where the mundane and the mystical intertwine. Looking forward to the sequel.

I found this book hard to get into at the beginning (still can't work out why) but am glad that I stuck with it as by the time I got to the end I was well an truly gripped and left wanting to read more. The journey that leads Angel and her "family" to help with the lives of Jenny and other's that Angel used to go to school with is brilliant!!!!

I couldn't stop reading this book! The only fault I found was that it had ended! The author does such an amazing job not only with the vast array of characters that come alive right off the pages, but the story grips you right from the start pulling you in as if you are right there along side them all.

Angel is an amazing character who shows some of the other characters in the book that although people can and will do wrong against each other and you.. we should not seek revenge... but we can offer them choices where they can either succeed or fail. It is all about the choices we make. A great life lesson that we could all learn from. This is one of those stories that you feel was written just for you for some reason. Whether it is one of the many characters you can relate to, or something that happens in your own life that is now transposed onto paper as if you were looking into a mirror. It will have you looking for these characters in real life. You will want to hug Jenny and tell her it will be okay, and give Rob a high five and tell him to keep up the good work. Smack Tiffany for being so selfish or maybe spend the day with Aiden? Okay so gardens might not be all you want to talk about.

But we can't forget the base of the story and that is Lilith who we get to see in a very positive light in this book. She guides Angel in her search for forgiveness and knowledge which Angel then shares with the others in her group. We meet Gods, Goddesses and even the Princes of Hell all helpers to spread the word of learning and love. A great twist on how they are usually portrayed.

This is a must read for anyone looking for a bit of romance, Qabalah, mysticism, intrigue and true friendship as this story has it all! I can't wait for book 2!

The week in writing

It's a lot of fun for me to write. I get to see so many places that I've never actually been to. Once in a while I even revisit places I've been, some of them a long time ago. Come to think that last bit reminds me of an old Led Zepplin song, "Over the Hills and Far Away".

Every day I keep writing and pushing the limits of my imagination. I don't know where tomorrow a story will take me but I can't wait to find out.

The new laptop has been wonderful, can carry it just about everywhere so I'm able to get even more writing done than I could before. It's been quite the wonderful addition to my life.

Goblin Spells Unicorns

This is a really short book, only 8 pages I will note. I also think the cover is really nice.

My review:
It definitely has shades of Grimm's Fairy Tales in many ways. It has a good story line I think, especially for a children's book. I could see it as a book that's illustrated in fact.

Contest updates

So far I'm pretty happy with my results. About 300 have read "Witchery Afoot" so far which is a lot of readers for me. Most of the non-fiction and poetry I've written doesn't get anywhere near that amount of readers except over a lot of years. Since we can have two stories in I also cleaned up a little the short story "Whole World in a Raindrop" and added it in to the contest. It's had about 20 reads so far which is pretty cool I think especially considering I didn't tell anyone about it being there.

I haven't read all of the stories I'll admit but I've read a number of them. Some of my favorites?

"So, which one is the right ear again?" by Erika Szabo

(Quite a fascinating story that I could too easily see happen)

"The Lost Ship" by Alan Place

(What can I say, I love ghost stories)

"Treblinka" by Bud Scott

(I like reading stories surrounding aspects of the Holocaust)

"The Dog With No Name" by Jerold Last

(Interesting case and would be a good way to name a dog)
